It’s Coffee Time With Andrew Episode 87 Speech preparation.

Preparation for the new scripted speech.

I am doing an experiment on developing a very well structured speech. This is a new kind of verbal presentation for me. Yes, it’s a presentation where I am using a script.

The script does not leave a lot of room for variation. This particular kind of script requires that a certain verbal pattern is maintained. I do have the option of leaving out some passages without losing the speech’s effect. But the order and flow is predetermined more than most presentations that I do.

While I don’t have any plans for delivering this speech it is a good opportunity to expand my repertoire. Even if I never deliver the entire speech, after hearing 10 or so speeches by others over the last couple of weeks I think it may be useful. I now believe that incorporating parts of my highly scripted presentation may have a very important part to play in talking to groups. This may be even more important when there is more than one presenter, as in seminars or day long events.
