The last SMMOC was an unusual meeting in that it was little light on content.
We had an interesting conversation about the pros and cons of developing a new app. The one in question was called luxping.
One of the best marketing tips came from john chow about using FaceBook’s behavioral targeting to find hot prospects. The week’s best quote is “FaceBook is too big to ignore.”
It was also reported that if you have very good content that gets good interaction you might get as high as 40 percent reach on your FaceBook business page posts. If your content is not popular you might get 10 percent or maybe less reach on your posts.
It was suggested that Hubspot is a very good solution to centralize a business’s online communications. At least one person reported that Hubspot can be used like a command and control center sending posts to email, social media, blogs and other online touch points.
The hub and spokes online model was talked about with an emphasis on the center of the wheel, your hub, is your brand.
We also talked about abandoning social media in favor of just using a blog/website as a person’s online presents. Many people felt this practice could leave a business vulnerable to negative comments without the chance to respond.
There was one gem of an idea that you would have had to been there to learn about. I think I will use it as one of those semi secret marketing tactics I use for myself and people I work with.
That was about it for this week.
I am wishing you the very best,
